Descrição da vaga: Offer DescriptionThe fellow will work on the aggregation and integration of data from heterogeneous sources (epidemiological, environmental, and social data, among others) with the aim of developing analyses and models to guide public policies for arbovirus control. Activities will include the development of methods for the automatic construction of spatial models by combining thematic maps and analyzing transmission patterns of these diseases. Additionally, the fellow will work on multi-objective optimization, seeking efficient solutions for complex epidemiological surveillance problems. The selected candidate will be based at the University of São Paulo’s Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (ICMC-USP) in São Carlos, Brazil, under the supervision of Prof. Alexandre Cláudio Botazzo Delbem, co-principal investigator of a project supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) through its Research in Public Policies Program (PPPP) and hosted by the School of Public Health (FSP-USP).Proficiency in advanced data science techniques, predictive modeling, spatial analysis, and data visualization will be essential.The project offers the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from various fields and apply innovative methods in public health. The results will contribute to the implementation of strategic solutions for the control of urban arboviruses and may have a significant social impact. Candidates must have obtained a PhD in related fields within the last seven years. A track record of publications and prior experience in data science and/or engineering, multi-criteria decision-making, evolutionary algorithms, and machine learning is desirable. Candidates are expected to work in a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality.
