Descrição da vaga: Offer DescriptionA post-doctoral position is available in the aforementioned project, which is hosted by the São Paulo State University’s Institute of Biosciences, Letters and Exact Sciences (IBILCE-UNESP) in São José do Rio Preto, Brazil. The future work of the scholarship holder includes activities aimed at achieving the general goals of the research project, namely: a) describing the characteristics of the plastid and mitochondrial genomes of representative members of the orders Acrochaetiales, Balliales, Colaconematales, Corynodactylales, Entwisleales, Ottiales and Rhodachlyales; b) performing phylogenomic analysis aiming to infer the phylogenetic relationships among members of all orders to elucidate their position within Nemaliophycidae; c) applying the data to raise hypotheses to explain the transition from marine to freshwater habitats.Candidates must have a PhD in Biological Sciences or related areas, completed less than seven years ago. It is a prerequisite that the candidate has a solid experience in laboratory work involving molecular protocols, as well as proven ability to assemble and analyze genomes. The scholarship will last 24 months with a 40-hour weekly dedication.To apply, the candidate must send the following documents by email by March 24, 2025: (i) cover letter informing the training and skills in the subject of the project; (ii) CV.This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality.
